  Ate here with my husband last weekend on a mini road trip up the coast. We were driving by and saw barbecued oysters advertised, and excitedly pulled in. Our first impression was fine - the hostess seemed nice, there seemed to be many happy patrons in the restaurant. We asked to sit outside, and were led to a porch which was buzzing with flies. After we sat down, we were NOT greeted by the surly waiter who did not smile, did not state his name, and looked at us coldly as he asked if he could get us anything. We gave each other glances as he walked away - but shrugged it off. We were willing to overlook this first impression.
  
  We weren't hungry for a full dinner, so we only ordered appetizers - half a dozen oysters for the husband, the Farm House Smoked Trout on flatbread for me. As we waited for our food to arrive, we noticed that everyone on the porch seemed very quiet and awkward. Noticeably different than the atmosphere inside.
  
  We watched our waiter as he interacted with everyone else on the porch. He was as dour with the other customers as he was with us. There was an uncomfortable feeling on the porch. This was his territory, and he was going to make everyone feel as uncomfortable as possible. My husband and I silently made a point of getting out of there as fast as possible. There was another, much more pleasant and cheery waiter, who sadly only came through two times. My husband told me after we left that he even exchanged bemused looks with another patron, who was clearly as displeased with the waiter's behavior as we were.
  
  That would've been enough in and of itself to keep us away from this place forever. Alas, this restaurant hadn't quite finished with us yet. Within a few hours of leaving (and having eaten nothing else), my husband began to complain of terrible stomach cramps. I won't offend anyone with the details, but what followed was clearly indicative of food poisoning. I was fortunate not to share his oysters, so I did not deal with this. This was definitely the last straw for us, and it's safe to say we will never ever go there again.
  
  As a side note, my appetizer was decent and fortunately did not make me sick.
